Stop running your corp
in the dark.

Most incorporated professionals don't know how much cash they actually have to use. They guess. They draw what feels safe. They hope year-end works out. FAS is a Canadian CPA firm built around lifecycle advisory for incorporated solopreneurs — so you know for certain.

Why We Built FAS

I built FAS because I watched too many incorporated professionals get clerical service when they needed a strategic relationship.

Most accountants focus on compliance. I wanted to build something different — a team of CPAs who specialize in solopreneurs. Every client gets matched with one advisor who owns their file. That advisor is backed by systems and expertise I've built over 15+ years.

You're not hiring Jason. You're hiring a team built for your lifecycle.

Why us, why this

We've been you.
That's the whole point.

FAS exists because we spent years sitting on your side of the desk — as solopreneurs, as professionals, as the person whose Sunday evenings got eaten by receipts and filing deadlines.

We know the lifecycle you're in, because we've lived it. From your first invoice to your estate plan — and every quietly stressful decision in between.

We only work with solopreneurs. Not large companies. Not anyone whose accounting is someone else's full-time job. We said no to that so we could say yes to you.

  • Starting out

First invoice, first T1, deciding whether to incorporate into a professional corporation.

  • Building

Growing your book of clients, hiring your first assistant, figuring out quarterly instalments.

  • Established

Compensation mix, tax-efficient savings, building reserves inside the corp.

  • Scaling back

Windowing down to the work you love, income-splitting options, what to do with retained earnings.

  • Transition & estate

Selling your book or practice, succession, estate planning, winding down the PC.

Who we mean

solopreneur /ˌsō-lō-prə-ˈnər/

"A professional who runs a business built on their own time — and has almost none of it left for themselves."

Doctors. Lawyers. Consultants. Agents. Therapists. Designers. Whether you're operating through a professional corporation or as an independent practitioner — if your revenue is tied to your hours, you're the client we built FAS for.

Professional service

You deliver expertise — not products or inventory. Your business is your craft.

Time is the asset

Every billable hour you spend on bookkeeping is a billable hour lost to clients — or to your family.

It's you, maybe a few

You, perhaps an assistant, perhaps a small team. You wear every hat — and you're tired of the accounting one.

Who we work with

Who FAS is built for.

We serve solopreneurs operating through a professional corporation (PC) or as independent practitioners across Canada, typically generating $250K–$2M annually. Each of these groups has accounting needs that traditional firms generalize across. We don't.

Lawyers

Trust account compliance and a partner-level tax brain who actually returns your call.

Doctors & Dentists

Compensation mix, retained earnings strategy, and a real plan for selling the practice one day.

Therapists & Allied Health

Sole prop or PC? We'll tell you which actually saves you money — and run the numbers to prove it.

Consultants

You bill in days. Your accountant should think in years. Lifecycle planning, not just filing.

Realtors (PREC or sole prop)

Income volatility is the rule, not the exception. Your tax strategy should match.

Designers, Photographers & Creatives

Project income, retained earnings, and the long arc from incorporated to retired.

What we take off your plate

Low friction.
Low touch. Fully handled.

One dedicated team. One flat monthly fee. The fewest touchpoints possible.

Monthly Bookkeeping

Your books, maintained quietly in the background. Clean, reconciled, decision-ready — without you touching a spreadsheet.

Corporate & Personal Tax

T1, T2, and all required filings for your professional corporation and personal return — prepared, reviewed, filed.

Sales Tax Filing

GST, HST, and QST returns prepared and submitted on schedule, so deadlines stop living in your calendar.

Payroll

Simple payroll for owner-draws, assistants, or a small team. Remittances and year-end slips handled.

Lifecycle Advisory

From first invoice to estate plan — guidance on compensation, retained earnings, income splitting, and the transitions in between.

Year-round Planning

Quiet check-ins at the moments that matter, not just at year-end. So the big decisions don't catch you off guard.

Note: FAS does not handle incorporation. We partner with trusted legal professionals for that — and step in once you're set up.

From first invoice to final sustainability

Six stages, six decisions. Select a stage to see the decision it turns on — and how we help you make it.

The Six Patterns We Watch For

No matter which stage your business is in, these blind spots can surface anytime. We're vigilant about all six, year-round.

  • Sales Tax Drift

Your GST, HST, or QST obligations build gradually in the background without a corresponding reserve strategy. By Q4, a surprise bill appears. You thought you had cash. You don't.

  • Draw Creep

January you take $7K. February $8K. By June you're taking $10K. You're not tracking it. Your corp can only sustain $8K/month. By year-end CRA gets surprised. You get shocked. We show you the pattern before it costs you.

  • Cash Fog

Your books say you're profitable, but you can't see where the money actually went. You think you have $50K. You actually have $28K. You don't realize the difference until you need it.

  • Reserve Mirage

You leave cash sitting idle earning nothing, or assume it's free and clear when it actually belongs to taxes, insurance, or slower periods. Most solos don't know the difference until they need it.

  • Phantom Runway

Your cash balance suggests stability, but hidden obligations (tax, payroll, operating costs) are shorter than you think. You feel sustainable. You're not. We help you see the real runway.

  • Quiet Tax

Your current financial patterns suggest elevated risk of an unexpected tax burden at year-end, or worse, on a transition or sale. We catch it before it catches you.

We've been down this road with hundreds of solos. We know where it breaks. That's why we're always one step ahead.

Free Diagnostic Tool

How financially exposed is your corporation right now?

A 4-minute diagnostic for incorporated solo professionals. Find out where your corporation is exposed — and what to discuss with an advisor before year-end.

Your corporate bank balance is not the same number as the cash you can safely use. Tax, reserves, and upcoming obligations sit inside it, invisible, until something forces the question.

This diagnostic is built for that gap. In about four minutes, it identifies the specific patterns showing up in your corporation right now — patterns most accountants only catch at year-end, when it's too late to fix them.

Why FAS

What we're not.

FAS was built specifically against the way most CPA firms serve incorporated solos. The differences are deliberate.

Most accounting firms

  • Bill hourly. Surprise invoices.
  • Talk to you at year-end.
  • Rotating juniors. You re-explain your file every year.
  • File your return.
  • Quote based on revenue size.
  • Generalist firm, you're one of many.

FAS

  • Flat monthly fee. Predictable, always.
  • Year-round planning touchpoints.
  • One CPA-led team that knows your file.
  • Build your roadmap.
  • Scope based on actual complexity.
  • Built specifically for incorporated solos.

If any of these distinctions matter to you, you're probably the right fit.

What you actually get

Not features.
Outcomes.

Clarity, not guessing

Monthly cash flow reporting shows exactly what's available, what's reserved, and what's at risk. Tax optimization discovered in first year: typically $5K–$15K depending on your current structure.

Compensation optimization

We model salary vs. dividends. Average tax impact: 15–30% reduction in personal tax burden from your current structure.

Risk prevention

We catch the 6 patterns most accountants only find at year-end, when it's too late. By then, they've cost you money.

Lifecycle planning

From incorporation to exit. We know where you're headed. Most solos never think about transition until it's urgent. We help you plan it before panic.

How it works

No surprises.
Just clarity.

We work with incorporated professionals earning $250K–$2M. Your retainer is customized based on your revenue, complexity, and the services you need — not forced into a tier.

Most clients invest $600–$1,200/month. Some invest more. Some less. We discuss what's right for your situation in a meeting, after we understand your needs.
